Research interests: aspects of fundamental physics that can be tested through cosmological/astrophysical observations.

Professional Experience

2018 – present: Researcher (permanent staff) at INAF – OAS Bologna (in 2018 IASF and Observatory of Bologna merged to form the Astrophysics and Space Science Observatory, OAS Bologna).

2016 – 2017: Researcher (permanent staff) at INAF – IASF Bologna.

2008 – 2016: Researcher at INAF – IASF Bologna in Theoretical and Observational Cosmology. Fixed term position.

2012: Visiting Scientist at Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen (Denmark)

2012: Visiting Scientist at European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Theory Division, Geneve (Switzerland)

2008: Visiting Scientist at Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL, NASA), Pasadena (California)

2005-2007: Post Doc Researcher (“Assegno di Ricerca”, italian name of this grant) at INAF-IASF Bologna

2004: CNR Fellowship.

2002-2003: Post Doc Researcher at Institut de Physique Théorique de l’Université de Lausanne, now part of EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne), Switzerland.

Education

1998: “laurea” degree in Theoretical Physics (110/110 cum laude) at the Physics Department of the University of Bologna, thesis title: “Quantum electromagnetic field in a curved space-time”, (supervisor Prof. G. Venturi).

2002: PhD in Physics, thesis title: “A field theoretical approach to extra dimensions” (supervisor Prof. Giovanni Venturi, Physics Department of the University of Bologna).
