MariX_rad

The MariX_rad project is part of the proposal for the MariX interdisciplinary research infrastructure, which includes a source based on the inverse Compton interaction for the production of monochromatic X-rays for biomedical applications. The main objective of Marix_rad is the study of multi-energy radiographic imaging, in particular of innovative double-energy techniques and through K-edge subtraction with contrast medium. In addition to the study of the characteristics of the radiation produced required for the implementation of these applications, the activities include the development and testing of the techniques necessary for the production of dual energy beams. The Ferrara research group, in addition to the national coordination of the project, deals with the analysis of the characteristics of the radiation beams, in order to optimize the results of diagnostic imaging, through Monte Carlo simulations and experimental activities in the laboratories of the Section.
