JEDI

The JEDI (Jülich Electric Dipole moment Investigations) collaboration, formed in 2011, aims to carry out a long-term project for the measurement of the moments of electric dipole of charged particles in an accumulation ring. The study of the electric dipole moment (EDM) of particles such as the deuteron, the neutron and the electron has great relevance in the field of cosmology (problem of matter-antimatter asymmetry in the Universe), for the study of fundamental symmetries of nature (violation of P, T and CP), and for testing possible physics beyond the Standard Model (SUSY, Multi-Higgs, etc.). The collaboration is currently involved in high-precision measurements of some key parameters at the COSY collection ring in Jülich, preliminary to the future construction of an accumulation ring dedicated to the study of EDM.
