Competition women and scientific research

donnericercaThe competition for schools on the relationship between women and scientific research is started

"WOMEN AND PHYSICS RESEARCH: opportunities, obstacles and challenges" is the title of the third edition of the competition for upper secondary schools announced by the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare and by the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche - Research Institute on Population and Social Policies IRPPS, both partners of the European network “GENERA - Gender Equality Network in the European Research Area”, for the school year 2021/2022.

The goal is to raise the awareness of female students on the issue of gender equality in scientific research and provide an opportunity to learn more about the opportunities that the study of physics offers.

The competition is open to students of classes III, IV and V of secondary schools of II degree. You can participate individually or in groups, under the supervision of the teacher, by making and presenting a video of a maximum duration of 5 minutes on some issues related to the relationship between women and science. Registration must be made by February 20, 2022, while the submission of the project must take place by March 21, 2022.

The winners will have the opportunity to visit a facility or laboratory of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare for two days to discover scientific and technological research up close, accompanied by researchers. Furthermore, the winning videos will be presented during an event scheduled for May 2022 in Rome, on the occasion of a day dedicated to physics and the role of women in this discipline.
