Sometimes it happens that the ratemeters are subjected to sudden
increases when the satellite approaches the SAGA
(fig.
).
These events are not frequent and are thought to be caused
by huge charged particles' concentrations in the vicinities of
the SAGA: when the satellite enters this regions, that only
occasionally show such high-energy particle densities, these
outstanding increases in the ratemeters are recorded.
