Reaching Ferraraby car: Ferrara can be easily reached by car, the closest tollway is the A13 Bologna-Padova. However most part of the historical city center is a limited access zone. There are some parking areas outside the center, but some hotels offer a parking permit to their customer. Be sure to ask when booking your reservation. by train: Ferrara is located on the railway between Bologna and Padova/Venice and is served daily by several regional, Intercity and Eurostar trains. The Bologna airport is served by all major European companies and linked to London, Paris, Lyon, Munich, Madrid, Frankfurt, Brussels, Barcelona, Amsterdam. This should be the best choice if you want to get to Ferrara by plane. If you land somewhere else, you can still find good connections between Ferrara and the Marco Polo airport in Venice, which is 110 km far from Ferrara. Moving in FerraraThe historical center of Ferrara is a limited access zone, so it is not recommended to use the car to move around. Some seasonal restriction are in place also outside the central zone for older cars (euro 1, 2 and 3). However several hotels are within walking distance from the conference location.
